    The classes are taught by Ana Santos, qualified in the Pilates Method in England, with an experience of 15 years teaching and practising Pilates. Ana is one of the precursors of the Pilates Method in Spain and the founder of Yo/Chi Pilates (Pilates Fusion with Yoga & Chi Kung) and Bhangralates (Pilates, Bhangra dance & Yoga).

  • Wide variety of Pilates styles:

Pilates sessions with the SPINE CORRECTOR

The Spine Corrector (also called "Step Barrel") is a Pilates aparatus with excellent therapeutic results as it allows one to correct many injuries and imbalances in the spine, while providing a great stretching exercise for the spine and legs.

The Spine Corrector is one of the most effective Pilates barrels to correct and rehabilitate imbalances in the spine. It is ideal for aligning and mobilizing the spine, improving posture and developing balance and control. It also provides a complete & intense abdominal workout and it lengthens and strengthens the torso, back, shoulders and legs.

The Spine Corrector, with its slanted platform and wooden handgrips, can be used to modify or enhance a wide variety of exercises and is designed to fully support the body, allowing for multi-dimensional movements through a full range of motion.

The use of the Spine Corrector is especially recommended for people with spine curvature problems and injuries such as scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis, or for people suffering from excesive tension in the dorsal & cervical areas, as well as for anyone aiming to amplify the variety of exercises in Pilates sessions.

PILATES FOR PREGNANCY & POST-NATAL PILATES:

As stated by many doctors, Pilates is an excellent choice for prenatal exercise as it strengthens the most important muscles used during pregnancy and labor. Pregnant pilates exercises builds abdominal, back and pelvic muscles that support more comfortable pregnancies and deliveries. This helps to prepare the body for labor and guarantees a faster recovery after birth.
Post-natal Pilates is also famous for helping new moms to get their figures back. In addition, this mind-body method of exercise will make you feel better and experience fewer discomforts after starting a class.

Pilates for Pregnancy offers several benefits and, if practiced with a qualified instructor licensed for appropriate pregnant pilates exercises, is safe for pregnant women and their babies.

Regular practice of pilates during pregnancy results in stronger, well-balanced and toned bodies. Pilates while pregnant helps in raising energy level and contain tendencies of being overweight. It can be used as an effective tool to lose weight postpartum.

Some of the benefits of Pilates for pregnancy & Post-natal Pilates are that it:

These sessions will help you to condition your body during pregnancy and to prepare it for birth as their aim is strenghtening the back and all the muscles of the body (especially the pelvic floor muscles), reduce liquid retention, ,improving posture, prevent and release tensions which may cause pain and mood changes during pregnancy. In addition, post-natal Pilates helps to recover body balance & shape and achieves a faster recovery of the body.

YO/CHI PILATES - Pilates Fusion with Chi Qong & Yoga:

Yo/Chi Pilates is a very complete mind-body discipline that fuses Chi Qong (o Chi Kung)and Yoga techniques together with the Pilates Method. BHANGRALATES - Pilates for Bhangra dance, Bhangra dance & Yoga

"Bhangralates" is an innovative method that combines Pilates therapeutic & strenghtening skills and the energetic & joyful Bhangra dance together with the physical and spiritual benefits of Yoga.

As Bhangra dance is a very dynamic type of dance which requires a strong body and high levels of energy, Bhangralates sessions start with a series of Pilates exercises specifically designed to fulfil the requirements of Bhangra dance in order to warm up and strengthen the body. These exercises also help to prevent any injuries and provide better body alignment, improve body-centre strength and increase endurance for dancing.

Once the body is fully prepared, we activate our body and energy by learning Bhangra dance steps and moves.

Bhangra dance is one of the most lively, energetic, explosive and colorful forms of dance existing nowadays. It emerged from the North of India (Punjab region) hundreds of years ago. Since then, Bhangra culture has developed dramatically and this has prompted its massive increase in popularity. Bhangra began as a folk dance conducted by farmers to celebrate the coming of Spring, a time known as Vaisakhi. Today, Bhangra survives in different forms and styles all over the globe - including pop music, film soundtracks, and even collegiate competitions and is now performed at every major celebration, in clubs..etc.

Bhangra is, undeniably, a very rich art form, originating from the folk traditions, warriors and legends of the Punjab. The sparkling colours, beats and rhythms of Bhangra compel everyone to tap their feet in time to the music.
The vibrant rythim and moves of this form of dance help to stimulate both brain hemispheres and balance the emotional (right side) and rational (left side) areas of the brain. In addition it improves coordination and is a full body workout which shapes up and tones up the body.

Finally, the sessions end with Yoga techniques to stretch and revitalize the main body areas used during the class and to achieve a full mind-body relaxation.

As we all know the children of today are far less active, with computers and television being the main attraction which contributes an increase in the number of children with low muscle tone. This impacts not only their ability to participate confidently in sport, but all other aspects of their life as well. They develop into adults with poor posture, who then suffer from various recurring injuries.

SUP Pilates/Yoga allows you to enjoy the strength and grace of Pilates & the flexibility and spirituality of Yoga with the calming & healing powers of the sea.

Pilates & Yoga on the Stand Up Paddle Board is a challenging and refreshing practice that combines two great core workouts to build strength, flexibility and balance in an outdoor environment.

Stand Up Paddle Surf (also called SUP) is the latest and fastest growing water-sport across the world. It was born in Hawaii, and combines the traditional Polynesian outrigger canoe paddling with Surf. SUP boards are large surfboards propelled by a standing paddler who uses an extra-long canoe paddle. They provide a fun and intense core-based balance challenge workout full of benefits, not only cardiovascular but also postural and strenghtening.

As the board is floating on water, in order to stand on the board and paddle, the paddler must recruit constantly the deep stabilizing muscles of the pelvis and spine. Furthermore practising Pilates core-based exercises on the board enhances the recruitment of such muscles plus the challenge and benefits of Pilates and builds extra flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. STAND-UP PADDLE SURF COACHING (SUP COACHING)

These unique sessions include Sports Coaching & Stand Up Paddle Surf techniques together with the principles of Hawaiian Huna tradition (“The Art of being Happy Here & Now”) enabling thus to enjoy a Holistic SUP Body-Mind-Soul training.

The benefits of these sessions go further than the ones achieved by the conventional practice of SUP, as our SUP Coaching sessions allow the individual to perfectionate his/her SUP paddling technique, corporal alignment, breathing capacity, general success performance, goals achievement capacity and motivation. In addition, these sessions enable to let go any personal insecurities, limitations and burdens and help to develop our innate capacities as confidence in one-self, inner strenght, body & mind flexibility, effective stress control, the capacity to adapt to new situations & changes, positivity, wellbeing and presence in the Here & Now.

THERAPEUTIC YOGA

Therapeutic Yoga is a modality of Yoga which is focused on the treatment of people with physical and/or mental limitations. It has been specifically designed to enhance the body’s own capacity to heal, therefore it is a particularly effective practice for those recovering from, or living with, injury or illness. Therapeutic Yoga fuses Restorative Yoga (supported postures), Gentle Yoga, Breathwork, Hands-on healing, and Guided meditation techniques in such a way that it is an excellent choice for those who need something gentle yet effective for bringing the body into balance and reducing stress.

It is highly flexible Yoga practice to accommodate the needs of patients with different conditions and physical abilities. .Therapeutic Yoga is also very gentle, acknowledging that participants are not experienced in the practice of Yoga and they may not be prepared for the physical strain of intense Yoga practice. Therefore, anyone, independently of his/her conditions or age can practice it.

Using readily available props such as pillows and blankets to gently support the body, the benefits of Therapeutic Yoga are accessible even to those recovering from injury or illness. Breathwork, guided imagery and hands-on healing modalities are also part of this system working to balance the body and ease the mind.

YOGA DINAMICO/VINYASA YOGA

Dynamic/Vinyasa Yoga is an ancient Oriental practice that provides numerous health benefits: Physically, sweat expels toxins and re-energizes your body. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes your mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout your body. Additionally, it tones the internal organs, strenghtens the connective tissue, corrects spine's misalignment & injuries, develops a good breathing technique, provides deep relaxation  and purifies the spirit, among other benefits.

Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement”. Dynamic/Vinyasa Yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like, which explains why it is sometimes referred to as Vinyasa Flow or just Flow.
The main difference between Dynamic/Vinyasa Yoga and other Yoga styles
consists in its emphasis in movement to make posible the transition between the postures (asanas) included in each session. This allows to achieve more fluidity and harmony in the classes, as “a great Universal dance that connects body, soul & mind with the One-ness”.

In our Dynamic/Vinyasa Yoga classes we also apply Pilates Method principles in order to provide a safer practice & to strenghten the core or energy centre of the body.

The Holistic massage is a very special type of massage for the whole body that has been specially designed to achieve a complete relaxation and balance for the body, mind & energy levels.

In order to achieve this, Holistic massage is a very subtle and complete massage that fuses several types of massage in one.
It combines Taoist massage (2.500 years-old massage), Swedish massage & Spine massage to provide a full experience of wonderful sensations that will make you recover your vitality & balance and feel fully relaxed.
